Worship Pastor Carlos Garcia

Our Worship Pastor, Carlos Garcia, was born and raised in East Meadow, New York. Pastor Carlos is a first generation born in the United States and is of Puerto Rican descent. He was raised in the Catholic Church in a good moral home. He married his high school sweetheart, Ruth in 1983. They love parenting their four kids: Tony (19), Andrea (18), Carly (12) and Christopher (9).

Carlos joined the pastoral team at Minooka Bible in June of 2004. He has served in ministry for 17 years and has a varied background including family camp ministry, worship leading and even working for a Caterpillar Dealership. Carlos received his BS in Music Education from The King’s College in 1985 and a Master of Music in Church Music from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1988. He is currently working on an MDiv at Rockbridge Seminary.

Pastor Carlos enjoys time with Ruth and the kids, running, singing, and thinks LOST is great TV, iPods are the greatest invention ever, automobiles and all things related to automobiles (insurance, repairs, tires, etc.) are a part of the curse, without Beethoven we would not have anything known as pop music - or almost any other kind of “modern” music, Mahler symphonies are impossible to completely understand, but more than worth the effort to understand, everyone should read Calvary Road, by Roy Hession, and, it doesn’t get any better than The Music Man and Fiddler on the Roof.

Carlos trusted Christ in August 1988 after hearing the Gospel from Dr. Robert A. Cook at the beginning of his college education. His favorite verse is Zephaniah 3:17: The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing. Carlos is very grateful to be a part of such a talented and committed pastoral team. He leads the Worship Arts Ministry and oversees Small Groups.
