Senior Pastor David Jankowski

Pastor Dave grew up in Elmhurst, IL, the first of four children. His father was an airline pilot with American Airlines, and his mother was a homemaker. Pastor Dave’s father lives in southern California, and his mother died in March of 1985 after a brief battle with lung cancer.

Pastor Dave accepted Christ at a Bible Club led by his mother and some of her friends. He is an alumnus of Moody Bible Institute in Chicago and Wheaton College and Wheaton Graduate School in Wheaton, IL.

Pastor Dave has ministered at MBC since January 1998. During that time the church has doubled its attendance necessitating a building program which brought us our multi-purpose facility in the spring of 2007. Before serving at MBC, he was the senior pastor of Countryside Chapel in Glen Ellyn, IL, and Grace Church of Mahomet, IL. In addition, he served the mission board called Worldteam in Miami, FL, for five years as its personnel director.

Pastor Dave’s wife, Ruthie, has served beside him in each of these ministries. They met on a Practical Christian Ministry assignment during Pastor Dave’s first year at Moody, and they were married in June of 1964. Ruthie is a talented musician who assists Pastor Carlos with special music in her role on the worship planning team.
They have two children, Jeff and Julie. Jeff was married to Cleary in March of 1996, and Julie was married to Arol McFadden in June of ’98. Pastor Dave and Ruthie have six grandchildren, three from Jeff and Cleary and three from Arol and Julie.

As an avid sportsman, Dave maintains a regular running schedule, and he can be seen running around town (literally) in the early morning hours. He also enjoys muscle toning exercises on a regular basis. His favorite athletic activity is snow skiing in the Rocky Mountains.
